World Hunger offerings
are collected on the 5th Sundays during the year and again in November on
Lutheran World Relief Sunday. The gifts are forwarded to
Lutheran World Relief to support their work throughout the world.

Canned Food Collections
are held ten times during the year to collect food for the
Matthews Help Center, which
serves needy members of the community.

Blood Drives are held 4
times a year, giving members the opportunity to “Give the Gift of Life”

Battered Women’s Shelter
evening meals are provided by the Social Ministry Team four
times during the year.

Eyeglasses are collected
each year and sent to third world countries through
Vosh International.

Goodie Boxes are made
and sent to our college students each year to get them through February exams.

Over 25 “Church
Mice” roam the Church. These are people who have agreed
to anonymously provide prayers and friendly support to another member for one
year.

For Peanut Butter Sunday,
members bring a jar of peanut butter to Sunday worship. These are taken to
Loaves and Fishes for
distribution.

The
Christmas Angel Tree provides an opportunity
for members to provide a gift for a needy family.

The team collects over 100 filled shoe boxes from
church members to support
Operation Christmas Child, a ministry by
Samaritan's Purse.

The Team hosts a Birthday Party for residents at
the Albemarle Nursing Home
having a May birthday.

Snack baskets are placed
in the family waiting rooms of area hospitals four times a year to
support people who have family members in the hospital.
